Who Should Attend
The MAAGCS / VGCSA Assistants Forum is designed as a career development program for assistant superintendents and crew members involved in golf course operations. Membership is not required. Superintendents are encouraged to accompany their staff, and Partners are also invited. Meeting attire is sportcoat, no tie.

Host Aaron Wells, GCS welcomes you to Belmont Country Clubs, an Arnold Palmer design club. Belmont's Manor House was once part of the vast land holdings of Lord Fairfax, built in the 1790s by the son of a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The name Belmont means "beautiful mountains" in French, and the course has great views of the Shenandoah Mountains.
PGA and Champions Tour Professional and Champion
Born in Richmond, VA, Bobby Wadkins is a professional golfer who completed on the PGA Tour and currently competes on the Champions Tour. Bobby won the Virginia State Amateur in 1971 and is a four time winner on the Champions Tour, including a major, having captured the 2006 Senior Players Championship. He also has wins on the European Tour and Japan Golf Tour. Bobby brings a wealth of Knowledge having gained many experiences as he traveled the world. Bobby's topic will cover "Etiquette & Professionalism." Following the meeting he will treat us to a clinic on the driving range.
The Assistants Roundtable is an informative and lively presentation with audience participation. Panelists include Bobby Wadkins (our keynote speaker), Aaron Wells (GCS at Belmont CC), Sean Baskette (CGS at Hidden Valley CC) and Trevor Hedgepeth (CGS Kinloch GC).
MAAGCS-VGCSA Ryder Cup Golf & Reception
This year MAAGCS and VGCSA Assistants will square off in a Ryder Cup style match. Teams of two assistants from each chapter will compete against each other in captain's choice format. One point will be awarded for the team winning each match, and 1/2 point will be awarded to each team if a match ties. The team that accumulates the most points will be the champions.
Sign Up Early!! The number of official matches will depend on the amount of players that sign up for each chapter. If one chapter has additional players, they will still compete but will not count in the official match. It is first-come, first-serve, so sign up early to secure your spot in the official event. Players may name their partner or one will be assigned. Prizes and reception will follow the golf event.
