    Golf Course Description

    The Golf Club at South River is one of the most talked about golf courses in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our 18-hole championship golf course has been skillfully designed by Brian T. Ault in 1996 to enhance the surrounding wildlife of South River along with a distinguished layout that will impress even the pros. The golf experience at South River features Bentgrass Greens, Tees, and Fairways as well as a renovated Bermudagrass practice facility.

    Job Description

    The 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and 1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to assist with crew management, fertilizer and spray applications, irrigation management, and other daily tasks of golf course maintenance. The golf course is currently working with a Masterplan to help improve the playability of the course. The chosen candidate will be very involved in the execution of this Masterplan and provides a great opportunity to gain experience in construction and drainage. This is a great opportunity for someone with turfgrass education to gain vital experience in the turfgrass industry.

    Job Requirements

    A successful candidate:

    • Must have two or more seasons working in the golf course maintenance industry, preferably in the Mid-Atlantic region.
    • Must have or obtain a MD Pesticide and Nutrient Management License within 90 days of employment.
    • Should possess strong organizational and management skills, as well as a strong leader.
    • Must have a strong attention to detail and be passionate about the golf course maintenance industry.
    • Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
