GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
Leisure World of Maryland (www.lwmc.com) is a gated, 55 +active adult community located in Silver Spring Maryland, and home to 29 community associations representing over 5,600 homes and extensive Trust operations including an 18 hole golf course sitting on 85 acres in the center of the community. The course features bent/poa greens and tees with Patriot Bermuda grass fairways. The course measures 5,200 yards and plays to Par 69. The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for operation of the golf course operation and maintenance. The responsibilities include: turf grass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, personnel management, budget/forecasting, financial management, member relations, scheduling/maintenance or irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings, and compliance of regulatory issues.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a golf course management role; full competency with repair and maintenance of irrigation system (Toro Site Pro-preferred); Maryland certified Pesticide and Fertilizer applicator (or ability to secure such within 90 days), Pesticide Business License, Hazardous Materials Use Permit and valid state driver’s license with clean driving record; and extensive knowledge of the principles, theories and practices of golf course management and operations including budgeting and financial practices.
