    About the Club:   Overlooking the Potomac River, Breton Bay Golf and Country Club is a semi-private recreation facility located in St Mary’s County , Maryland. The facility opened in 1972 and its amenities include an 18 hole Championship golf course, an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts and clubhouse.

    The par 72 golf course measures 7045 yds. from the championship tees. The modified push-up greens are bent/poa mix. The fairways are Vamont bermuda grass and tees are bermuda grass with some being Latitude 36. The irrigation system is Rainbird Stratus II.

    Budget:  Annual operating and payroll expenses $545,000.

    Job Description:  The Golf Course/Facilities Superintendent is responsible for all aspects the Golf Course Maintenance Operation. He/She is also responsible for the routine maintenance and repair of all buildings on the property, the tennis court, the clubhouse grounds and the opening/closing of the pool.

    Education:  Two or four year degree in Golf Course Management or Turf Management related field

    Experience:  The position requires experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or a minimum of 3 years as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Requires knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting golf course management operations. Must possess or be able to obtain a Maryland Pesticide Applicators License (3a, 3c) and Maryland Professional Fertilizer Applicator License. A strong understanding of irrigation system troubleshooting and repair, drainage systems, electrical systems, equipment maintenance and repair and a strong mechanical ability will be of great value. Experience in managing bent/poa push-up greens preferred.

    Annual Salary:  $65,000+ DOE
