    Ford’s Colony CC is a 54-hole facility in Williamsburg, VA.  We are a semi-private golf club owned and operated by ClubCorp.  There are over 200 golf clubs in the ClubCorp family spanning the United States.  Thus, a great opportunity for advancement/relocation.

    Fords Colony CC seeks a Superintendent to oversee the Blue Heron Golf Course.  The course has Champion Bermuda greens (established in 2013) and Tifway 419 tees, fairways, and rough.  An irrigation upgrade was also completed in the spring of 2019.

    The Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Director of Agronomy in the operating functions of the Golf Course Maintenance Department to ensure the highest quality playing conditions of the golf course.  Responsibilities include assisting in the continued improvement of Clubhouse grounds, course landscaping, and wetlands.  Additional responsibilities include turfgrass/plant material maintenance programs, assisting with forecasting/expense management, scheduling and maintenance of irrigation system, pesticide applications, and related record keeping.

    Other Responsibilities Include:

    • Participate in the hiring, training and development of staff
    • Ensure the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, State and Federal guidelines for safe working conditions
    • Compliance of regulatory issues

    Job Qualifications Include:

    • 1-2 years experience in Golf Course Maintenance
    • 2 or 4 year Agronomy degree or related field
    • Possess a Virginia Pesticide Applicators License or obtain one within 3 months
    • Ability to work in a team atmosphere
    • Able to foster relationships with Members, Guests, and Employee Partners
