    Turf Equipment Technician

     The Cannon Club is seeking to hire a highly motivated Full-Time Turf Equipment Technician to maintain its fleet of equipment. The Cannon Club is a private 18-hole golf facility located in Lothian, Maryland

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Maintain a preventative maintenance program on all golf course maintenance equipment.
    • Ensures accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, parts ordered are kept.
    • Purchase repair parts and replacement supplies to maintain adequate inventory.  
    • Manage budget expenses in the maintenance of the equipment fleet relating to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work and related items.
    • Perform daily inspection, adjustments, and diagnosis and repairs mechanical defects in golf course maintenance equipment.
    • Produce weekly schedule detailing preventative maintenance, repair dates, and equipment status for the upcoming week. Effectively communicates equipment issue with Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents and staff.
    • Organize and maintain a clean and safe maintenance area to OSHA standards.
    • Perform mower grinding/sharpening, general overhaul of motors and reels to provide outstanding quality-of-cut and reel longevity.   
    • Assists golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning and safe operation of equipment.
    • Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of maintenance equipment including internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems on mowing equipment and light duty vehicles.
    • Performs maintenance such as grinding, sharpening and adjustment of all mowing equipment to insure proper quality of cut.
    • Adherence to proper disposal of various oils, compounds and other residues (antifreeze, oil filters, etc.) to local, state and federal standards.
    • Performs other duties as required.


    High School or equivalent.  Additional technical training preferred.


    The successful candidate will maintain a neat and clean work area, be courteous, punctual, possess a strong work ethic and effectively communicate with the Golf Course Superintendent any issues with the equipment fleet. Candidate must have an understanding and play golf.


    Salary:  $42,000 - $58,000 Depending on experience and qualifications.
