Position: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, Rattlewood Golf Course
Operation: 18 hole daily fee golf course with about 45,000 rounds annually. Rainbird Nimbus II automatic irrigation system & Flowtronex Oasis pump station. Modified USGA spec greens. Ryegrass/tall fescue fairways. Ryegrass, HGT bluegrass tees.
Budget: Annual Operating and Payroll Expenses $600,000.
Duties: Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual that will work closely with the Superintendent to produce an outstanding golf experience every day. General duties will include planning and executing day to day operations which include: employee supervision and training, pesticide and fertilizer applications, crew scheduling, irrigation troubleshooting and repair, rotating weekend manager.
Education: Successful completion of a degree or certificate program in turfgrass management.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years golf course experience.

Rattlewood is part of Montgomery County Golf (MCG), a division of Montgomery County Revenue Authority (MCRA). MCG runs 9 self-supporting golf courses throughout Montgomery County, Maryland. The candidate chosen for this position will be professional, detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be a team player. Excellent opportunity for advancement in the MCG system.
The selected candidate will become an expert in water management and will be highly involved with scouting for insects, disease, and weed issues on the course. We try to run an efficient operation that will not consume your personal life. The Assistant Superintendent will also help find creative and effective solutions to golf course challenges, taking advantage of the latest practices and technology to help make our jobs easier.
Annual Base Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 based on experience
