    About the Club:

    Norbeck Country Club was designed by Alfred H. Tull and first opened for play in 1954. With its gently rolling fairways and small greens, Norbeck Country Club is one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Norbeck Country Club is respected as a fine test of golf, having hosted many prominent events over the past 60 years. The 7,019-yard course offers six sets of tees and provides the expert player a challenging experience yet is still a fair test for the average golfer. Norbeck is just outside of Rockville, MD and is minutes away from the ICC.

    Position Requirements:

    The Equipment/Shop Manager is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and keeping in good working order for all the Club's landscape and golf course maintenance equipment, all maintenance buildings, and structures.


    • Establish and implement preventive maintenance programs for all equipment on inventory in the golf maintenance operation
    • Be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all golf maintenance equipment
    • Maintain the mechanics work area and company tools in a clean, well-organized, safe, and secure manner
    • Must follow and adhere to all Club/Employee policies, safety and environmental standards as set forth by the company & federal, state, and local laws
    • Will be responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels of petroleum products, replacement parts, shop supplies and required recordkeeping.
    • Will be responsible for the storage and removal of waste oils and other hazardous materials and all required recordkeeping.

    Reports To:

    Jay Nalls, Golf Course Superintendent


    • 3 to 5 years in Golf Course Maintenance experience required
    • Minimum two-year College Degree in Turf Grass Management or related field required.


    This is a full-time hourly position commensurate on experience. Vacation, sick leave and health insurance are available.
