We are excited to announce the opportunity of Golf Course Superintendent at Salisbury Country Club. The current superintendent has accepted a Director of Agronomy position in the area. We are looking for a motivated individual that will make our team and golf course better.

The Golf Course Superintendent reports to the Director of Golf and Grounds.  This position will collaborate with three assistants, the Grounds Superintendent, and mechanics to ensure member expectations are met daily. The individual will be expected to lead the day-to-day operations. This includes planning, executing projects, budgeting, implementing cultural practices, moisture management, pesticide applications, and developing staff. They are expected to be an ambassador for our department through communication with members and other departments, as well as regularly attending committee meetings.

Salisbury Country Club is a full-service private club located in Midlothian, VA, just outside of Richmond. Current membership is full and we have a growing waitlist. The golf course consists of 27 holes, along with four practice greens and a driving range. Play is rotated between each of the nine-hole courses, allowing members a different playing experience throughout the week. The greens consist of L93 Bentgrass, while each nine has a unique variety of Bermuda grass on their respective playing surfaces. The original 18-hole course is set up with a Toro electric irrigation system, while the Huguenot nine continues to run off hydraulic irrigation. Better Billy bunker liners were installed in 2013 on all bunkers.

With a recent clubhouse renovation in the rear-view mirror, SCC is constantly looking to progress.  Golf Course Architect Bill Bergin has created a master plan for the property. Additionally, the club is currently working on a strategic plan to guide future projects. In 2023 we will convert our Buckingham nine to zoysia grass, utilizing a no till conversion. Irrigation on the Huguenot nine is scheduled for replacement in 2024. We are excited about the direction we are headed and what the future holds for our team.
