Central Sod is a dynamic and innovative turfgrass farm committed to delivering excellence in both our products and service.  We are a 1600 acre farm with 37 employees based in Centreville MD that grows and delivers several types of sod to wholesale and retail customers in the Maryland / VA / DE area.  We pride ourselves on being the premier choice for sod across the Mid-Atlantic and are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team and continue to grow our footprint in the area.

Position Overview

Central Sod is looking for a results-driven Sales Manager to perform a variety of duties related to sales, customer service, and general administrative tasks. This position would be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, continuing to generate and convert leads (primarily wholesale), managing key accounts,  and overseeing our customer service team.  The ideal candidate will come with industry knowledge/experience (turfgrass, chemical, or seed) and have a proven track record of success in sales, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving business growth.

General Responsibilities

• Drive lead generation and conversion (primarily wholesale)
• Assist and oversee order taking, fulfillment, and other general customer service tasks
• Meet with customers, attend trade shows and networking events
• Assist marketing department to develop campaigns to educate leads and customers
• Generate periodic reports outlining sales performance

Requirements

• Experience with turfgrass or landscape industry preferred but not required
• Ability to speak or willingness to learn basic Spanish preferred (but not required)
• Able to use computers, social media, CRM systems, apps quickly and efficiently
