    Compensation:  $40,000-45,000 w/ Free Housing

    About the Course:    Worthington Manor is an Ault-Clark signature golf course that is notably one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier public golf clubs located in Urbana, Maryland.  Worthington Manor has played host to 18 qualifiers of prestigious USGA national championships including U.S. Amateurs, U.S. Mid-Amateur, U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Public Links Championship.  This past year we were the host of our 10th U.S. Open Qualifier, along with the 98th Maryland Open. 

    Job Description: Worthington Manor Golf Club is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to become our next Assistant Superintendent.  The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent.   He/she will assist in the planning and management of the day to day operations and employees.  Daily jobs will include but not limited to course setup, water management, fertilizer and pesticide applications, irrigation repair, IPM, personnel management, and various improvement projects.  The assistant will have the opportunity to expand on their experience and knowledge to advance professionally in this industry.

    Experience Requirements: 

    • Must possess a passion for the job, and a drive to advance their career
    • 1-3 years of golf course related experience 
    • Must have great communication skills
    • Highly motivated and dependable individual
    • Possess basic computer skills and knowledge
    • Must obtain a Maryland pesticide and fertilizer license within the first 6 months of employment
    • Must be able and willing to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours throughout the growing season when needed
    • Must be a good team member while also being able to work independently

    Education Requirements:  The ideal candidate will possess a 2 or 4 year degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, or a related field from an accredited University.
