    Facility Description:

    Whiskey Creek Golf Club is owned and operated by KemperSports Management.

    Whiskey Creek Golf Club is located 30 minutes north of Washington, DC and 45 minutes west of Baltimore. Whiskey Creek is Maryland’s premier upscale daily fee course, rated 4th in Maryland by Golfweek and 4.5 stars by Golf Digest's places to play. Ernie Els designed the 7,000+ yard course which features bent-grass fairways, tees and greens.

    Position Summary:

    Manage all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds and equipment to ensure that we produce “Best in Class” playing conditions at Whiskey Creek Golf Club.

    Major Duties:

    Manage all actives that support the golf course maintenance operation such as:

     Human resource management (hire, train and direct staff).

     Manage daily operations, special projects and outside contractors.

     Maintain clean and organized maintenance facility.

     Able to safely and efficiently operate all golf course maintenance equipment.

     Assist mechanic with equipment preventive maintenance program.

     Manage cool season turf (bent-grass and turf type tall fescue).

     Must be well versed with water management, cultural practices and scouting.

     Program, operate and maintain “Rain Bird Maxi” irrigation system.

     Safely and accurately apply agricultural products (pesticides and fertilizers).

     Maintain landscape by ensuring proper weeding, edging, mulching, pruning, etc.

     Perform administrative duties, primarily preparing neat, accurate and detailed records (pesticide, fertilizer, water usage, payroll, work schedule, fuel usage, equipment inventory, equipment repair).

    Special Requirements:

     One must demonstrate quality interpersonal communication skills.

     Have the ability to analyze and solve problems.

     Be able to efficiently handle multiple tasks under pressure.

     Work flexible hours as required to support the golf course maintenance operation.

     Present a positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

     One must be dedicated and committed to excellent customer service.


     2 or 4 year degree in turf-grass management.

     Must be able to obtain a Maryland Pesticide and Fertilizer Applicators license.

     3 years supervisory and golf course maintenance experience.
