Position: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

1757 Golf Club, a private golf club as of May 2022 is looking for Assistant Superintendent to join our Agronomy team. Since Heritage Golf has operated 1757 over $1.6 million of capital has been invested into the club. The golf course consists of A1/A4 bentgrass greens, L-93 tees and fairways with an extensive practice area. The bunkers were renovated in 2021 using the Better Billy Bunker system. Rainbird irrigation system with a Rainbird Stratus II central.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate and prioritize daily agronomic needs.
• Proactively identify and correct agronomic problems that may arise.
• Aid in creating and implementing fertilizer and pesticide programs.
• Understand all aspects of maintaining bentgrass in the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Challenged with insight on all irrigation, disease, capital expenditures and course improvement decisions.

Requirements:

• Positive Attitude with a strong attention to detail, leading a team
• Turfgrass certificate, 2–4-year degree in Turf Management or related field preferred (willing to consider extensive experience and knowledge)
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in golf course maintenance
• Ability to acquire a pesticide license within the first 6 months of employment
• Working knowledge of turfgrass maintenance equipment
