Senior Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Ocean City Golf Club located in Ocean City, Maryland is seeking a Senior Assistant Superintendent. The position will work closely with Golf Course Superintendent, Mike Salvio, to oversee the 36-hole facility. The role is designed for a succession plan towards becoming the Golf Course Superintendent at Ocean City Golf Club.

Featuring 2 courses and 36 holes of championship golf, enjoy the tradition of the game in one of the most beautiful settings on the East Coast. All 18 holes of the Newport Bay course feature marsh and bay vistas and is widely regarded as the most beautiful golf course on the Mid-Atlantic coast. The Seaside course is one of the classic layouts on the Eastern Shore and its wide-open fairways and tightly guarded greens make it a favorite for all golfers of all skill levels.
Golf Course Superintendent, Mike Salvio, has been with the club since 2011. He is a GCSAA Class A, Certified Golf Course Superintendent. Mike is a Board Member for the Eastern Shore Association of Golf Course Superintendents. He is involved with golf management at the local and national levels.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The AGCS reports directly to the GCS. Under the GCS supervision, the AGCS directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf courses, including but not limited to tees, greens, fairways, cart paths, and does related work as required. The AGCS will serve in the GCS capacity during his absence.

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:
- Learns the property, culture and operations
- Participates in daily scheduling and maintenance of the golf courses
- Develops rapport and consistent communication with staff and department heads
- Assists in early season applications and preparation of the golf course
KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILL SET AND OTHER TRAITS:
- Additional responsibilities include planning and supervising maintenace of both golf courses.
- Instruct operators on operation and care of all equipment
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers
- Participate in programming and maintenance of Toro Lynx irrigation systems.
- Self-motivated to partner with GCS to produce the best conditions possible.
- Assist in personnel management and record keeping
- Working knowledge of golf course operations, course set up
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $70,000-$75,000

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- A certificate, 2-year or 4-year degree is preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 3-seasons on a golf course with progressive responsibilities
- Possession of driver's license and be able to obtain Maryland pesticide and fertilizer license
