    Winters Run Golf Club, founded in 1972, is seeking an Equipment Manager, to join our team effectively immediately.  An 18-hole private country club, Located just outside of Bel Air Maryland.

    The equipment manager reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and/or the assistant golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The equipment manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent. The equipment manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.

    The golf course was built in 1972 and designed by Raymond F. Loving, Jr., ASGCA and opened in 1973. Push up greens with Bentgrass and Poa annua.  23 acres of rye grass fairways along with 2.2 acres of Iron Cutter Bermuda.

    The fleet consists of Toro Triplex mowers for Greens, Tee and Approaches. Toro 5 gang mowers for the fairways and Sandpro. 2 John Deere sprayers and 5 John Deere Gators. 3 tractors, skid steer and excavator.

    • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
    • Graduate of a vocational technical school or post-secondary training in small engine repair or mechanics. 
    • Three to six years of experience as a mechanic. 

    Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with a good attitude!

    • Valid driver’s license. 
    • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. 
    • Can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. 
    • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. 
    • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position. 
    • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling
    • Proficiency in computer use, knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applications as specified by supervisor.
    • Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
    • Knowledge of gas and diesel engines
    • Knowledge of small engine repair
    • Knowledge of hydraulics
    • Ability to implement and follow a maintenance schedule for all equipment pertaining to the grounds
    • Ability to purchase and log purchases
    • Ability to communicate professionally
    • Ability to diagnose some electrical issues
    • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and help train the correct methods of equipment usage
    • Creative ability for effective solutions to problems
    • Organized, punctual and self-motivated
    • Knowledge of welding
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more regularly
