Everything from rolling fairways bordered with mounds and moguls, to multitiered greens with deep pot bunkers, and tee boxes and greens edged with railroad ties all play a role in course playability and maintenance. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment and contribute to the growth of our golf course maintenance team.
Position Summary:
The Equipment Manager is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall management of the golf course’s fleet of equipment, including mowers, sprayers, utility vehicles, small engines, and related tools. This position ensures that all equipment is in safe, working condition and operates at peak performance to support the turf maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Inspect, maintain and repair all turf equipment including reel and rotary mowers, utility carts, tractors, and small engines.
- Sharpen reels and blades using proper grinding equipment.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule.
- Perform preventative maintenance schedules and keep detailed service records.
- Inspect equipment daily for proper operation and safety compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance facility.
- Order parts, manage inventory, and plan for future maintenance programs.
- Train and assist staff with equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Communicate regularly with the superintendent and maintenance team to ensure the needs of the equipment fleet are addressed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency; technical certification in mechanics a plus.
- Relevant experience in equipment and/or vehicle maintenance, preferably in a golf course setting.
- Strong knowledge of small engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Experience with reel grinding and mower setup preferred.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license required.
