Tad Dinan Captures the Annual Championship
The MAAGCS Annual Championship was contested at PB Dye Golf Club on Tuesday, October 2nd. It was a wet day with steady rain in the morning, but the skies cleared up for the final holes of the tournament. Host superintendent Chris Navin and his team had the golf course in excellent condition with the greens rolling quickly and true, even with the extra water on the playing surface.
Tad Dinan, superintendent of Crofton Country Club was victorious after shooting an impressive score of +4, 76 to finish ahead of Marshall Hibbs of Penderbrook Golf Club, by one stroke. In the open division it was Andrew Puddester carding another impressive score of +3, 75 to edge out Andrew Harrison of Pocono Turf and defending champion Jeff Rice by one stroke, both carding a +4, 76.
Taking home top honors in the superintendent/assistant division net was host superintendent Chris Navin with a 67 followed by Brett Niner’s 68 and Chris Fernandes’ 69. In the open division, Ed Gasper, retired took home top honors with a -4, 68, two strokes ahead of Andrew Harrison’s 70. Tyler Herbst's +2, 74 would round out the top three.
