    Presenter Bio’s: 

    Steve McDonald:

    Published in multiple industry magazines across the country, Steve McDonald is the principal owner of Turfgrass Disease Solutions, LLC.  Steve consults with many of the nation’s best golf courses to faciliate an agronomic program that exceeds member expectations.  Annually, Steve visits more than 250 golf courses.  He has consulted internationally as well.  In addition, Turfgrass Diseases Solutions manages a privately held turf farm, where plant protection suppliers utilize his non-biased approach to research on new chemistries.  

    Brandon Horvath, Ph.D:
    Dr. Horvath is a turf pathologist. He earned his Ph. D. in Turfgrass Science from Michigan State University. Dr. Horvath's research interests include the epidemiology of turfgrass pathogens and the development of strategies based upon epidemiological research to manage turfgrass diseases.​

    Shawn Askew, Ph.D:

    Dr. Askew has a three-way appointment in the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences covering 25% research, 10% teaching and 65% extension.  He has developed and extended weed control technologies that minimize impacts to humans and the environment but preserve turfgrass function and aesthetic.  His programmatic accomplishments have fostered new weed management solutions that have been implemented across the U.S. and in parts of East Asia.

    Andrew Green, Golf Course Architect:

    Andrew Green is the President and Principal Architect of A.H. Green Design/Green Golf & Turf, Inc.   He established his business with a focus on being at the forefront of the next generation of architects.  Andrew was recognized by Golf Digest in November of 2018 as the #3 Renovation Expert currently working.   Andrew is currently working with over 20 different clients from Boston to Dallas to Montego Bay, Jamaica.  He completed the restoration of Inverness Club in Toledo, OH – which hosted its first US Open in 1920 – in 2018, receiving accolades from Golfweek as the Restoration of the Year.   Andrew is currently renovating Congressional Country Club's Blue Course in preparation for 10 different PGA of America Championships over the next two decades, concluding with the 2036 Ryder Cup.  Other awards include: The Stanley Abbot Award for Excellence in Landscape Architecture Thesis in 2001, Golf Digest Best New Affordable Course in the US in 2006 for King Carter Golf Club, and a top 5 renovation of Whitemarsh Valley CC in 2015
