MAAGCS is proud to promote scholarship opportunities offered by the Maryland State Golf Association. Below are several scholarship opportunities from MSGA with links to apply.
MSGA Scholarship
- Purpose: Organized for exclusively charitable and educational purposes, including to award educational scholarships to individuals employed by MSGA member clubs/courses and/or their children, and to students having completed junior year of high school with a bona fide connection to golf.
- Eligibility: The scholarship program will be open to those individuals who have provided services as employees and/or their children to MSGA member clubs/courses for a minimum of two (2) years, and/or students who have completed their junior year of high school with a bona fide connection to golf.
- Amount: The number of recipients and the scholarship amount awarded to each recipient will be determined by the MSGA Scholarship Committee & Board of Directors

The Caves Valley Golf Club Foundation Scholarship
- Purpose: Awarded to a female student who has completed her junior year of high school and has a bona fide connection to golf.
- Eligibility: The scholarship program will be open to those individuals who have provided services as employees and/or their children to MSGA member clubs/courses for a minimum of two (2) years, and/or students who have completed their junior year of high school with a bona fide connection to golf.
- Amount: One $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually.
Country Club of Maryland Scholarship
- Purpose: Awarded to a student who has completed their junior year of high school and has a bona fide connection to golf.
- Eligibility: The scholarship program will be open to those individuals who have provided services as employees and/or their children to MSGA member clubs/courses for a minimum of two (2) years, and/or students who have completed their junior year of high school with a bona fide connection to golf.
- Amount: One $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually.
David King Scholarship
- Purpose: Organized for exclusively charitable and educational purposes, including to award educational scholarships to individuals employed by MSGA member clubs/courses and/or their children, and to students having completed junior year of high school with a bona fide connection to golf.
- Eligibility: The scholarship program will be open to those individuals who have provided services as employees and/or their children to MSGA member clubs/courses for a minimum of two (2) years, and/or students who have completed their junior year of high school with a bona fide connection to golf.
- Amount: One $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually.
Hinkey-Benson Stem Scholarship
- Purpose: Designated for the purpose of providing scholarship assistance to students with a bona fide connection to the golf industry in Maryland
- Eligibility: Applicants must be from the state of Maryland. Scholarships will be awarded to students who are majoring in or intend to major in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields, with a preference towards computer science and engineering students. Additional consideration will be given to students who would contribute to the racial, ethnic, and gender diversity of the STEM fields and demonstrate financial need. Students must have completed their junior year in high school to be eligible.
- Amount: One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded in 2022.
Andy Tignanelli Memorial Scholarship
- Purpose: The Andy Tignanelli Memorial Scholarship is designated for the purpose of providing scholarship assistance to students with a bonafide connection to the golf industry in Maryland.
- Eligibility: The Scholarship program will be open to those individuals employed by MSGA member clubs/courses and/or their children and to students having completed his or her junior year of high school with a bonafide connection to golf.
- Amount: One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a male student, and one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a female student in 2022.
